Description


A small Chinese saucer dish, decorated in underglaze blue of a deep tone, and dating from the late Ming period. The dish has a central roundel with a lotus flower head and lotus scrolls in reserve against the blue background. There are four panels around the rim also with lotus flower heads separated by strongly painted diaper panels.  The back of the dish has two asymmetrically-placed lingzhi fungi. Diameter 15cm (5.9”)
 
Dating: Tianqi c 1625

Condition:

This dish is in very good condition. There is some glaze fritting around the rim, a small amount of kiln grit adhering to the glaze of the dish, and a few minor manufacturing flaws on the back of the dish.  No chips, cracks or restoration.
