Description
An attractive Chinese biscuit-decorated figure of the laughing twins, the HeHe Erxian, the two Immortals associated with Harmony and Union, decorated with susancai enamels of green, yellow and aubergine/brown and dating to the Kangxi period. The two figures are standing smiling and laughing together on a pierced rockwork base. One figure holds a lingzhi fungus in his hand, and the other holds a string of cash coins. Height 14cm (5.5")
The expressions on the faces of the two figures have been well modelled, as can be appreciated.
Dating: Kangxi c 1700 - 1720
Condition:
This figure is in very good condition. There is a shallow chip to the side of the rockwork base, and the tip of the little finger of the figure dressed in yellow is missing. No other damage. PLEASE NOTE that the white area which can be seen on the rockwork base underneath the green-dressed figure is simply an area of porcelain which has not been enamelled, and is not a chip
