Description

A Chinese export hexagonal teapot stand, finely decorated in famille rose enamels and dating from the early Qianlong period. The rim of the teapot stand is decorated in grisaille and gilt with a rope twist beneath which is a diaper pattern border with scrolling and intertwined gilt flowers and foliage. The centre of the dish is beautifully and delicately decorated with a scene of two men and a woman sitting on a mat of leaves beneath a flower spray suspended from the gilt scrollwork. Diameter 13.2cm (5.2”)

A very good example of fine quality famille rose decoration on porcelain.

Dating: Qianlong c1740-1760

Condition:

This set is in excellent condition.  The stand is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.  There is some rubbing to the central scene from use (see images). The grisaille and gilt border is in very good condition with only light wear to the raised ribs of the dish. There are some dark marks to the back of the dish, possibly ink stains.
