Description
A nice quality English tin-glazed earthenware ('delftware') plate dating from the mid Eighteenth Century c 1760. The glaze is of a good white colour and the decoration is finely done in Chinese style, emulating the decoration on Chinese export plates of the Qianlong period. The centre is painted with flowers emerging from a rectangular vase on a stand, with a bowl of fruit nearby and an insect overhead. The rim is decorated with 3 ribboned flower sprays. The reverse has three quickly-sketched flower sprays and a cross mark on the base. Diameter 22.8cm (9")

Condition
This plate is in very good condition. There is the expected glaze loss around the rim of the plate, and one small and shallow rim chip (see final image). No cracks and no restoration.

Price: £175
