Description

An attractive small Chinese vase, decorated with underglaze blue circles and overglaze enamels in the wucai palette of red, green and yellow enamels, and dating from the Transitional Period. The body of the vase is profusely and colourfully decorated with two lion dogs amidst scrolling foliage and peony flowers.  Height 10.5cm (4.1”)

Dating: Shunzhi or early Kangxi (1644 - 1680)

Condition:

A shallow rim chip, and a second small restored rim chip (see images). The enamels are in good condition as can be appreciated from the images, with only small areas of loss.
