Description

A Chinese saucer with ruby enamel ground and with fan-shaped panels of famille rose decoration, dating from the Yongzheng period.  The ruby ground has been applied first, leaving shaped reserves: the centre has a circular reserve filled with flowers, and the body of the saucer has three fan-shaped reserves interspersed with three cloud lappet reserves. The fan-shaped panels have been delicately decorated with scenes of everyday activities. Diameter 11.4cm (4.5”)

The rich ruby ground and the delicate famille rose decoration give an almost jewel-like effect on this attractive saucer.

Dating: Yongzheng c 1730

Condition:

This saucer is in excellent condition, with just one very small area of roughness to the rim, visible in the third image.  As can be appreciated form our photographs, the enamels are in very good condition with just light rubbing to the ruby ground from stacking. (see images).

Price: £395
