Description
A good quality and unusual Chinese export famille rose plate dating from the early Qianlong period c 1740-1750. The centre of the plate is decorated with a scene of a rider on horseback crossing a bridge towards a building in a walled garden, with a pavilion among the rocks in the distance. In the far distance are very faint mountains. The rim is decorated with a complex design of grisaille panels alternating with flowers against famille rose cloud and cracked ice designs. Diameter 22.3cm (8.7”)
Dating: Qianlong c1740-1750
Condition:
This plate is in excellent, undamaged, condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. As can be appreciated from the photographs, the enamels are in excellent condition.
